Clinical and psychological study of male sexual dysfunctions in Tunisia

Human behaviour is influenced by the sociocultural context. The object of this study is to determine, beyond the symptoms, the numerous psychological factors that intervene in male sexual pathology. It is a prospective study concerning sixty two male patients with sexual dysfunction treated as outpatients in the psychiatry department of Monastir Hospital.
The evaluation consists of a psychiatric and physical examination during which three tests are performed:
- Beck depression inventory,
- Max Hamilton anxiety scale,
- Azrin marital satisfaction test.
The erectiles disorders come first (54%), erection out of sexual relations being positive in almost 80% of cases.
The psychiatric diagnostics are :
- depressive states : 35%,
- anxiety states : 20%.
The treatment is multiple consisting of a medical, psychological and sexual approach.
