Prevention of relapses in sexual therapy: Clinical analyses and therapeutic considerations

F.X. POUDAT (Nantes)

SUMMARY: To prevent lapses and relapses in sexual therapy, it is important to consider the variables involved in the process of change and cure (needs, active role, therapeutic alliance, expectations, etc.). Even though the relapse in itself is not always negative, it can occur more readily because of poor functional analysis and a poorly structured definition of objectives. The implementation of multimodal programs can clear up this confusion.
