Psychological aspects of female urinary incontinence

S. CONQUY (Paris)

Summary:

Female urinary incontinence affects some aspect of the lives of about 5% of women in France. The impact of urinary incontinence varies owing to many factors such as age and cultural beliefs. Quality of life assessments evaluated from specific questionnaires are tests that measure the impact of this debilitating condition. It seems important to determine whether we have to wait until the women themselves ask about this problem. In any case, the most important seems to be to provide information about it to women and also to all the doctors.
