SUMMARY : The aim of this study is to evaluate efficiency and follow-up of
self-intracavernous injections in 221 patients suffering of erectile dysfunction.
204 patients were controlled, and reparted in three different equal groups.
70 patients restaured spontaneus injections, and stopped their treatment. They
were considered as cured from their erectile dysfunction. 70 patients oftently
praticed intracavernous injections, whithout any improvement of their spontaneous
injections. They were considered as dependant of treatment. 64 patients stopped
the treatment whithout any improvement of their spontaneus injections. The reasons
of these failures are misceallous (unefficiency, side effects, technical problems,
life events).
The results of this study suggest that :
- intracavernous injections are not well tolerated by patients, despite of their
efficiency ;
- initial presentation of treatment by the practician is very important, as
his andrological experience ;
- follow-up is important, too.
