Summary:
After a recent, very pessimistic report by French National aids council, relating HIV risk and sexual life in mentally handicapped persons institutions, it seems necessary to give a different, more realistic approach of the problem.
We consider in this article general life and privacy conditions, means of knowing the handicaped persons'sexuality, sexual epidemiology of HIV, and how to build a project of prevention through the words of the mentally handicaped persons and their educators and parents.
