SUMMARY :
The Authors have studied female to male transsexualism analysing the personality
characteristics of partners of subjects suffering from this disorder and the
sexual interaction within the couple.
The sample was composed of eight couples: in one couple the partner with Gender
Identity Disorder had undergone a surgical sex change, in five couples the partner
was starting the process and in the other two couples the partner was at different
stages of the sex change process. The study employed a semistructured interview,
the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory 2 and the Sexual Interaction
Inventory.
