SUMMARY :
Over a period of 8 years, the number of couples consulting for problems of impotence
(erectile dysfuntion) at the consulting centre in tokyo was 503.
On investigating the women, it can be seen that a large number of them suffer
from a lack of sex drive and frigidity. In such cases, compatibility between
the partners is a central problem.
In psychological terms, compatibility is not considered as a scientific concept.
The author suggests that, when observing couples suffering from a sexual handicap,
the difference in their sexual capacities is much bigger than for people who
do not suffer from such problems, and the incompatiblity resulting from sexual
differences becomes a crucial aspect to be considered in treating both parties.
A treatment is proposed for both members of the couple, based on the concept
of compatibility.
