SUMMARY :
In 1974 the WHO (9), with an official declaration, introduced the concept of
sexual health as being subjective and social, connoted in positive terms of
physical, psychical and affective well-being and not simply like a lack of symptoms
or diseases.
In this article, the elements put together for the sexual health are listed
in seven levels of observation: Organic, Subjective, Corporal, Relation of Couple,
Reproductive, Parental, Socio-Cultural.
All the elements of the seven levels are in circular relationship between them
and constitute an important and wide topic of survey, even if here they are
analysed shortly only in their main points.
The human sexuality is a natural biological function, finalised substantially
to three objectives: procreation, pleasure, relationship (8).
It stands on two elements hinge: on the one hand, it is linked to what characterises
the sexual behaviour of the individual and his personal ability to enter in
relationship with the other or the others. On the other hand on a side
that we can call public the sexuality is strongly bound to the sexual
models suggested by the socio-cultural context to which one belongs.
The health is very precious and belongs, in equal measure, to the individuals
and to the community and its protection is a right/duty of both.
